Qualified Construction Lawyer

Competitive salary, rewards and benefits
Based at our Dorchester office

Do you consider yourself to be a resilient lawyer who enjoys delivering exceptional client service with a keen interest for working with a range of clients from within the construction sector?

We are seeking a qualified solicitor up to 3 years PQE with experience in Construction Law in the UK. Our team is expanding to meet our ambitious growth plans and to meet existing client needs.

You will be working with the business owner and will be responsible for your own caseload of good quality contentious and non-contentious matters of varying size and complexity to provide appropriate, insightful and commercially relevant advice to meet clients’ specific needs and interests.

Whilst the role is primarily on dispute resolution, part of your role will involve drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of standard and bespoke forms of construction and engineering contracts (JCT and NEC). We work with clients at every stage of the construction process in both the private and public sectors.

You must be self-motivated and enthusiastic, having benefited from good quality training and post qualifying experience. You will have already developed strong client care skills and an ability to listen and respond to clients as needed. Additionally, you will have gained good technical knowledge and experienced the practical application of the common suite of contracts relating to construction projects.

Our preferred candidate will be approachable, easy to communicate with and happy to lead by example, finding the mentoring of our apprentices rewarding.

A very competitive salary, rewards and benefits package will be offered to the right candidate, as will the flexibility of hybrid working. Relocation expenses will be considered too, if you are considering moving to this lovely part of the UK.

If this sounds like a role for you, please apply in writing in the first instance, along with a detailed CV to heleena.reeves@reevesjames.com.
